Unlike garage door openers and other common motion-detection systems that send out far-reaching infared beams, the QualCare™ PIR Wireless Alarm projects a small, fan-shaped infared field that spans the length of a patient's bedside. Caregivers can therefore avoid activating the alarm, but if any part of the patient's body enters this motion-detection field, the alarm sounds and staff is alerted to unwanted patient movement.Magnetic Bed Rail Clamp mounts to the metal bed rail with a string magnet -- allowing the patient to move freely within the bed. Magnetic clamp releases to help prevent bruised shins if caregivers bump into alarm. Mount PIR Alarms on wall above bed, attach to the head of bed, or above a door.
