Schedule 40 (1") PVC pipe is reinforcing the base of the tee-fitting and the 4-way fitting from top to bottom. Schedule 40 (1") PVC pipe is bonded into schedule 40 (1-1/4") PVC pipe to provide additional support to tee-fitting and 4-way fittings.
